Role Overview
ShopZaro is our fashion and lifestyle pillar – streetwear, plush toys, accessories, and collectibles that carry ZARO into everyday life. It will live across ShopZaro.com, physical retail, and global distribution partners. As Managing Director – ShopZaro & Global Retail, you will own the entire ShopZaro business: strategy, product, channels, partnerships and P&L. You'll work closely with internal merchandisers and designers (including existing talent) while building the larger retail structure around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the global strategy for ShopZaro across e-commerce (ShopZaro.com), physical retail (stores, kiosks, shop-in-shop), and wholesale and distribution partners.
- Own the ShopZaro P&L: revenue, margins, inventory, logistics, and operating costs.
- Build a product and assortment strategy across apparel, plushies, accessories, school & lifestyle products.
- Work with internal merchandising and design teams on line planning, drops, pricing, and product positioning.
- Develop and manage retail and distribution partnerships with malls, department stores, airport retail, and regional players.
- Oversee e-commerce operations: UX, conversion, fulfilment, customer service, basic CRM/loyalty integration.
- Put in place core retail operations systems: forecasting, buying calendars, stock management, replenishment, SOPs.
- Coordinate with Head of Global Merchandising & Licensing to keep a clear line between products we create and sell under ShopZaro, and products external partners license and sell.
- Collaborate with Media & Web3 on special drops, collaborations, and loyalty/utility initiatives that make sense for customers.
- Build and lead the ShopZaro team over time (ops, visual merchandising, ecommerce, retail managers).
What You'll Bring
- 8–15+ years in fashion/retail/lifestyle, including senior P&L responsibility (country head, GM, retail director, ecommerce lead, etc.).
- Experience growing or running a multi-channel retail business (online + offline).
- Strong understanding of merchandise planning, buying, stock management, and pricing.
- A track record of signing or managing retail partnerships (malls, department stores, franchisees, distributors).
- Comfort building processes and teams from early stage rather than inheriting a fully built machine.
- Ability to work closely with creative people and translate ideas into commercial product ranges.
- Fluent English; experience in GCC or MENA retail is a plus.
