Characters
The heroes who will shape the fate of worlds. The threat that follows. Some you'll meet in Book 1. Others are still waiting in the shadows.
The CMYK Prime System
In ZaroVerse, the fundamental forces of creation follow CMYK - but this is light, not ink. Yellow represents hope (Zaro). Cyan represents structure (ARC-7). Magenta represents transformation. These three Primes (CMY) face one enemy: the Black Prime - the Black Hole (K). The Ink is merely its conscript.
Zaro
The Spark

A being of living emotional light, born from the Seed Core itself. Zaro emerged from the Container after it crashed through Earth's atmosphere - carrying the last hope of a civilization that understood something precious must survive.
Known Abilities
- Radiates warmth that defies darkness
- Emotions directly amplify his power
- Can counter what the Ink corrupts
- NOT OVER surge ability when pushed to limits
Unknowns
- What is his full potential when awakened?
- Why was Earth chosen?
Role in the Story
Zaro is the heart of the story. Not the strongest, but what's worth fighting for. His journey is about discovering why he was sent to this world - and what it will cost to protect it.
ARC-7
The Guardian

A watcher from the ARC Realm - a dimension of pure structure and law. ARC-7 has observed countless worlds fall to The Ink. He detected the Container's signal and has been tracking it since before impact.
Known Abilities
- Bound by seven unbreakable rules (especially Rule Seven)
- Can observe across dimensional barriers
- Cannot cross into physical reality directly
- Communicates through the cyan interface layer
Unknowns
- What happens if Rule Seven is broken?
- What did he witness that made him care?
Role in the Story
ARC-7 represents the tension between duty and compassion. He sees more than he can act upon. His struggle is ancient: following rules vs. doing what's right when the rules aren't enough.
Kai
MagDust Operator
A teen gamer and builder who becomes one of humanity's first defenders. Through the MagDust EM glove interface, Kai can shape magnetic dust into constructs - tools, shields, weapons. He didn't ask for this fight, but he's not walking away.
Known Abilities
- MagDust EM glove operator
- Shapes magnetic dust into constructs
- Builder mindset - sees problems as puzzles
- Quick-thinking under pressure
Unknowns
- How did the MagDust technology reach Earth?
- What's his connection to the larger story?
MagDust EM Gloves
Electromagnetic gauntlets that manipulate ferrofluid particles suspended in a containment field. The dust responds to hand gestures, forming solid constructs limited only by concentration and power reserves.
Mina
Fireflies Commander
A teen strategist who commands the Fireflies - a swarm of micro-drones that give her eyes everywhere. Mina sees the battlefield like no one else. She doesn't just react; she predicts.
Known Abilities
- Fireflies drone swarm controller
- Eyes and sensors everywhere at once
- Strategic mind - thinks three moves ahead
- Heart of the team's tactical decisions
Unknowns
- Where did the Fireflies come from?
- What pattern is she starting to see?
Fireflies Hand Rig
A forearm-mounted command interface that controls a swarm of micro-drones. Each Firefly carries sensors, light emitters, and short-range communication. Together, they form a distributed surveillance and tactical support network.

The Ink
Conscript of Darkness

A cosmic fungus that spreads like silence. It cannot create - only consume. The Ink followed the frequency of hope across galaxies, patient and hungry, learning to absorb light itself. What it touches forgets warmth forever. But The Ink is not the true enemy - it answers to something far older: the Black Hole.
Known Abilities
- Spreads through darkness and absence
- Adapts to every defense over time
- Absorbs both light and memory
- Serves the Black Hole's hunger
Unknowns
- How did the Black Hole create it?
- Can it be separated from its master?
- Is there intelligence beneath the hunger?
Role in the Story
The Ink is not the big bad - it's the advance guard. A conscript of the Black Prime. It represents the fear that the enemy you see is never the true enemy. Something worse waits in the void.
The Black Hole
The True Enemy

The K in CMYK. While Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow represent creation, connection, and hope - the Black Hole represents ultimate entropy. It does not simply consume light; it erases it from ever having existed. The Ink is merely its messenger, sent ahead to weaken worlds before the true darkness arrives.
Known Abilities
- The source of all entropy
- Commands The Ink and other conscripts
- Erases light from existence itself
- The opponent the three Primes must face together
Unknowns
- What created the Black Hole?
- Can anything survive its presence?
- What happens when CMY combines to create White?
Role in the Story
The Black Hole is the endgame. The reason why three Primes must unite. It represents the ultimate test: can hope, structure, and transformation together create something strong enough to counter absolute darkness? The answer is White - if they can achieve it.
