Color Rules (Canon Lock)

Color in ZaroVerse is not aesthetic decoration. It is semantic, energetic, and canonical.

Core Principles

  • A character's primary color does not change casually
  • Color changes only occur through earned narrative events
  • No character may freely swap color identity

Prime Colors (CMYK System)

PrimeColorMeaningCharacter
YBright YellowHope, restoration, protectionZaro
CTeal / CyanStructure, precision, containmentARC-7
MMagentaTransformation (teased Season 1, introduced Season 2)Unrevealed
KBlackHunger, gravity, silence, theftThe Black Hole

Zaro (Yellow Prime) — Color States

  • Bright Yellow — normal, strong, stable
  • Dark Yellow — tired, scared, strained
  • Gray-Yellow — near collapse, almost empty
  • White-Hot Yellow — Overdrive surge (rare)

When Zaro's light drops, the world can desaturate slightly.

Combination Colors

ComboResultMeaning
C + YGreenRepair and neutralization — rare and dramatic
M + YRedPassion meets warmth — intense but volatile
C + MBlueLogic meets mystery — cold but brilliant
C + M + YWhiteThe ultimate — only force that neutralizes Black

Green appears when Yellow and Cyan spiral fast enough to blend. Green does NOT neutralize the Black Hole — only White can.

Gear Colors

  • Fireflies (Mina): Neutral white glow, white-blue electric arcs. Never yellow, teal, green, or magenta.
  • MagDust (Kai): Dark iron / metal gray. Must look physical and heavy, not magical.

Forbidden Usage

  • No random recoloring for style
  • No multicolor "power-up" effects unless explicitly canon-approved
  • No rainbow or spectrum blending without narrative cause

Color is lore. Breaking color rules breaks canon.
